On May 3rd, 2022, The Regrettes played a high energy show at the Lincoln Theater in Washington D.C. for their Further Joy Tour! Close to the famous 9:30 Club, this venue is a large seated theater, and it was filled up for this show. While the band was not expecting seats at this venue, the lead singer Lydia Night brought up the crowd’s energy very quickly. Most of their concerts usually allow for a mosh pit and lots of jumping, so this was a challenge that the band needed to overcome. Lydia wanted to ensure that our experience was just as exciting as each of their other shows.
Consisting of five band members, Lydia Night (lead vocals/guitar), Drew Thomson (drums), Genessa Gariano (guitar), and Brooke Dickson (bass), The Regrettes took the stage with a confidence that proved their preparedness and excitement for their performance. Each band member showed their passion for music throughout the entirety of the show, which was very admirable, as touring can be a stressful journey. They showed their audience how much fun they were having, making the crowd go wild!
During the song Barely On My Mind, from their newest album Further Joy, Lydia made her way into the crowd to interact with the fans. She jumped and sang with us, making a special moment for many. She came up to myself and my friend Madalyn, and we had a blast getting to dance with her. This was a great way to connect with the crowd and enhance their experience.
If you ever get the chance, go see The Regrettes perform live. They put on a show that is memorable, amusing, and welcoming. In addition to this, they convey important messages to young women about positive body image, women’s rights, and standing up for yourself. Not only will they play great music, they will inspire you in so many ways!
