Caught FLETCHER at StageAE playing a packed house with opener VÉRITÉ was one of those shows that is absolutely everything!
First up, VÉRITÉ . Her haunting and beautiful voice filled the packed house, backed by the cheers and sing-a-long of the crowd. Her new single Love You Forever (only a few days old) was just one of the tracks in the 30 minute set that could have gone longer, had the crowd had any say!
But as wonderful as VÉRITÉ was, it was still FLETCHER the crowd was there for and boy did she put on a show. A theatrical, complex set designed to look like NYC street scene, complete with rooftop space for performing, and dramatic lighting. I loved this, it’s so nice to see artists really take stage design to this next level.
The Girl of My Dreams Tour is about more than the backdrop and stage design (though again, kudos for giving a sh*t about it!) it’s about a fabulous singer with a catalog of honest, sure and sometimes biting pop songs that speak to the crowd so completely. The set list is long from Guess We Lied to a cover of If U Seek Amy, of course her arguably biggest crowd participation track Undrunk, and more. A brilliant show from first to last.
