This year’s Northside Music Festival lineup included nearly 100 bands, primarily local to the Pittsburgh area. On Sunday, the streets were filled with gospel music, but on Saturday night, rock was all the rage.
Tiny Wars, a five-piece band from Pittsburgh, took the stage on Saturday at the First National Bank Stage on Foreland and Middle streets. The heavily 1980s-inspired rock band had the crowd head-banging and dancing in the street.
On the Allegheny Commons Park lawn, Different Places In Space performed at the Redfishbowl Artist Village Stage for an enthusiastic crowd. The band showcased their musical abilities, including various instruments not commonly found in rock, such as a harmonica. They are known for their “psych-rock” style of music.
Down the block, 91.3 WYEP had a tent and small stage set up in front of Allegheny City brewing on East Ohio Street. The brewery was packed, with festival-goers spilling out onto the balcony and the sidewalk outside.
